RINIS Cloud Hub

Government organisations call on the services of various public and private cloud providers to boost innovation and scalability whilst reducing dependency. This places new demands on the way in which we securely exchange data in compliance with regulations: both between clouds and between the cloud and existing government networks. Which is why we developed the RINIS Cloud Hub.

The RINIS Cloud Hub is the secure and flexible link for data exchanges between public cloud environments and government networks such as RINIS.net, TESTA and Diginetwerk. This enables organisations to use the same secure connection from their cloud applications in Microsoft Azure for instance, as they would from their own data centre. Nor is it necessary to install additional third-party hardware in the organisation’s data centre. Via the RINIS Cloud Hub, RINIS services are very easy to use for message exchanges for example. In addition, connections can be established with other government agencies.

The RINIS Cloud Hub offers organisations a secure and reliable way of sharing data over the cloud, for instance for connections with other government organisations. The service meets the highest standards in terms of data protection, privacy and laws and regulations, aligns with the government-wide cloud policy and guarantees organisations full control over their own data. This enables organisations to work in the cloud in a flexible and forward thinking manner, without compromising on data sovereignty.

Architecture

The RINIS Cloud Hub is the secure link between public cloud environments, such as Microsoft Azure and the RINIS infrastructure. Through this hub, cloud applications are able to directly and securely integrate with the RINIS service portfolio and other public networks. The RINIS Cloud Hub is ongoingly further developed and expanded to support other public and private cloud platforms, as well as modern security principles such as zero-trust architectures.

Technology

The connection is based on a redundant infrastructure with network encryption and real-time monitoring. Data are transferred in encrypted form via the hub, which means they are not stored in the hub. The RINIS Cloud Hub complies with the BIO, is ISO 27001-certified and fully GDPR-compliant. Regular penetration tests and continuous monitoring ensure top level security.
